Uelz, a prominent Valencian tech company and member of Startup Valencia, recently received the ‘Best Startup‘ award at the South Summit 2023 Startup Competition. The accolade was presented to Uelz during the awards ceremony, marking the culmination of the three-day event.

Uelz was selected from a pool of over 4,500 competing startups, emerging as one of the standout companies among the 100 finalists from 21 countries. These finalists showcased their projects to investors, corporations and influential figures from the global tech and innovation scene, who have converged in Madrid for this event. Spearheaded by María Luke, the startup is transforming the payment platform landscape by automating subscriptions and single customer payments, thereby  streamlining implementation and maintenance processes while reducing associated costs.

The judging committee responsible for the selection process, composed of industry experts, evaluated various criteria, including the level of innovation, scalability, growth potential, investment capacity, and the quality of the team behind each project.

Under the theme ‘Today 2030’, South Summit 2023 focused on the imminent challenges that the entrepreneurial ecosystem will face, namely sustainability, inclusion, and equality.

In addition to Uelz’s representation, the primary innovators of Valencia demonstrated the region’s potential in the #Time4Valencia space. Through a joint stand with Startup Valencia, Valencia City Council, Valencia Activa, DraperB1, Lanzadera, Social Nest Foundation, Zubi Group and Star Startups, the Valencian innovation ecosystem collectively showcased its endeavours at this prestigious international tech event, held in Madrid from the 7th to the 9th of June.
