To stay up-to-date with everything happening in the Valencian entrepreneurial ecosystem and to discover the innovative projects being developed in our region, the Startup Valencia Podcast brings us a story of innovation and entrepreneurship each week.

In its third season, which concluded in December of last year with a total of 35 episodes, we were introduced to many inspiring stories and success cases from startups across multiple sectors. From projects like Feending, Sales Layer, Dryfing, Gokoan, Timpers, and Climate17, to Startup Valencia partners like BStartup, Fresh People, and Opentop, they all came onto our microphones to share their latest news.

The fourth season of this audio format has just begun on 99.9, and Silvia Benlloch, the host, has already had the opportunity to chat with interesting figures from our ecosystem.

Pablo Ruibal, COO and co-founder of the startup, appeared on the podcast to discuss how Boatjump was conceived. He and his two partners launched this project to facilitate boat rentals, identifying a gap in the market. The project was selected in the fourth edition of Lanzadera, a crucial step for its success and for breaking into international markets, allowing it to bypass the service’s seasonality in our country.

Boatjump offers boat vacations accessible to all audiences. On the platform, users can search for the type of boat, dates, destination, and onboard services. Currently, this startup has over 14,000 boats registered in the world’s leading sailing destinations.

The topic of sustainability and energy efficiency was highlighted by Cerian Shower. Ricardo Báguena, its technical director, explained that this shower tray includes a static heat recuperator that allows the energy from shower water to be reused to heat the cold water coming from the supply network.

The idea came from the interest in developing an energy-saving element for homes. Báguena and his partners identified an uncovered market niche in the energy recovery of domestic hot water. There was no system that could be easily integrated into any type of home. Thus, they invented and patented a product that can be installed in any home, does not present architectural barriers, is easy to clean, maintenance-free, economically priced, and allows for the investment to be recouped within three years.

To learn more about the work done by Startup Valencia, Ángela Castelló, CRO at the association, joined the podcast. Castelló broke down the opportunities that collaboration and globalization offer our ecosystem and to contribute to Europe’s growth in the technological landscape.

Regarding the benefits of being part of Startup Valencia, she explained that it means being part of a community where experiences are exchanged, business relationships are established, and new opportunities are generated.

“The joint effort and the union of talent have been key to the growth of both the Valencian ecosystem and the association, forming a community of more than 35,000 agents that position Valencia as the reference hub in Southern Europe. Startup Valencia could not be where it is without the joint effort of the entire network of partners, supporters, and stakeholders,” points out Ángela.

She also took the opportunity to unveil some news about VDS, the benchmark international technological event, on its way to celebrating its seventh edition in October, welcoming more than 12,000 attendees from over 100 different countries; more than 700 investors with an investment portfolio of over 10 billion euros, and will feature more than 500 renowned speakers and over 2,500 startups.
