Be part of the Startup Valencia community made up of 48,000+ professionals

The presidents and representatives of AVIA, Espai Aero CV, Digital Cluster CV, Startup Valencia, Federación Comunitat Startup, QUIMACOVA, AVEP, XarxaTEC, AlicanTEC, AVAESEN, Fedacova and the Innovative Companies Cluster of the Toy Valley signed this morning a document of adhesion to the Defence Hub of the Valencian Community to highlight the commitment of each organisation to join efforts in the development of projects and investments within the defence sector.

The incorporation this week of AVAESEN, Fedacova and the Toy Valley Business Cluster has enabled the Hub to bring together more than 3,300 companies from all industrial sectors of the Valencian Community and from across the territory, positioning it as the representative body to structure the projects and investments derived from the increase of resources allocated to the defence sector.

The signing was attended by Francisco Segura, president of AVIA; Pepe Nieto, president of Espai Aero CV; Paco Gavilán, president of the Digital Cluster CV; Juan Luis Hortelano, president of Startup Valencia; Nacho Mas, representing the Federación Comunitat Startup; Amaya Fernández, president of QUIMACOVA and AVEP; José Bort, president of XarxaTEC; Joaquín Garrido, vice president of AlicanTEC; Marcos Lacruz, president of AVAESEN; Sergio Barona, secretary general of Fedacova; and David Monllor, director of the Innovative Companies Cluster of the Toy Valley.

Also present were the director of AVIA, Jackie Sánchez-Molero; the director of QUIMACOVA, Jesús Carretero; and the director of AVEP, Cristina Monge, along with 140 attendees who participated in the event.

According to Paco Gavilán, who acted as spokesperson for the Defence Hub of the Valencian Community, “the signing of this adhesion manifesto confirms that business associations are willing to cooperate in response to the needs of the defence sector. This alliance allows associated companies to generate synergies between complementary sectors and position themselves strategically for the development of projects”.

Gavilán also thanked Valencia Innovation Capital for hosting the signing of this agreement, “especially because the projects we develop will be clearly innovative and will undoubtedly benefit the Valencian territory as a whole, and therefore the city of Valencia”.

Finally, Gavilán emphasised that the Defence Hub of the Valencian Community remains open to the incorporation of additional organisations in order to leverage the experience and work of the entire business ecosystem. Among the twelve organisations that have joined the Hub today – and others that we know are willing to participate – we represent a mature environment covering virtually the entire Valencian industrial sector. Among the 3,300 companies represented today, we include suppliers from the automotive industry, mobility, aerospace, technology, cybersecurity, energy, technological innovation, startups, materials, chemicals and a wide range of industrial services.

All representatives of the organisations that joined the Hub confirmed that they understand this environment as the appropriate space to participate in national and international projects.

In line with other territorial initiatives within the defence field, the Defence Hub of the Valencian Community aims to collaborate with the broader regional ecosystem, including institutional and business actors, to strengthen the strategic positioning of the territory within new national and European programmes.

In this context, organisations such as the Confederation of Business Organisations of the Valencian Community (CEV), which could promote the involvement of economic sectors, and the Network of Technological Institutes, capable of contributing value in the defence field and facilitating the integration of industrial and technological capabilities, as well as the Valencia Chamber of Commerce, promoter of the first meeting, could contribute to strengthening and developing the newly created Hub.
