Be part of the Startup Valencia community made up of 48,000+ professionals

Startup Valencia and Innsomnia Group have formalized a strategic collaboration agreement aimed at stimulating and boosting the Base2 building in La Marina de Valencia as a leading hub for innovation, entrepreneurship, and business scaling.

Base2, whose concession is held by Innsomnia until 2030 (extendable), constitutes a strategic asset for positioning Valencia as an innovation node in the Mediterranean. The agreement will allow the consolidation of the space as a permanent meeting point for the technological ecosystem and business community, integrating infrastructure and high-impact projects.

The alliance aligns with European priorities regarding technological competitiveness, digitalization, and support for the growth of scaleups, driven by the European Commission to strengthen the continent’s strategic autonomy. The goal is to facilitate the real transfer of knowledge to the productive economy, accelerating technological adoption and creating environments that allow Valencian startups to scale with greater speed and international connection.

The model developed at Base2 will combine open innovation programs, sectoral ecosystems, and permanent meeting spaces between startups, scaleups, corporates, investors, and public administrations. Startup Valencia will provide its consolidated community and its capacity for ecosystem mobilization, while Innsomnia will contribute its extensive experience in hub management and innovation project execution.

Under the agreement, Startup Valencia will be part of the hub’s board, participating in its strategic orientation and strengthening the representation of the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Likewise, the association will promote the Startup Lounge at Base2 as a stable space for networking, business connection, and opportunity generation.

For Rafa Navarro, founder and president of Innsomnia, “Base2 is evolving towards a more open, connected hub model oriented towards real economic impact, following the models that the EU wants to promote. The collaboration with Startup Valencia reinforces our capacity to generate transformative projects and accompany the growth of startups and scaleups with an international vocation”.

For his part, Juan Luis Hortelano, president of Startup Valencia, points out that “this agreement strengthens the position of the Valencian technological ecosystem in a European context where support for scaleups and effective innovation transfer are key to competitiveness. Base2 becomes a strategic space to boost that connection between talent, business, and investment”.

Innsomnia will maintain its open innovation programs with large corporations and public administrations and will reinforce its activity in the management and development of innovation spaces. From its headquarters in Base2 at La Marina de Valencia, it will continue its international expansion with implementations in Miami, where it established its subsidiary last week, and in other Spanish cities currently in the selection process. In each of these new projects, the accelerator will develop its model alongside local partners, adapting them to the economic transformation needs of each territory.
