The Valencia CF has shared with representatives of the technology and innovation ecosystem of the Valencian Community the vision of Nou Mestalla, a project conceived to become much more than a football stadium and set to play a relevant role in the economic, business and social activity of the city.
The presentation took place during a new edition of the Supporters Catch Up of Startup Valencia, the periodic meeting that brings together the organisations that support the association and the members of the Corporate Innovation Club to encourage the exchange of knowledge and the development of new opportunities between corporations, startups and institutions.
During the session, Valencia CF representatives explained the main lines of the Nou Mestalla project, whose capacity will exceed 70,000 spectators, placing it among the highest-capacity stadiums in Spain. The new venue has been conceived as a multifunctional space with activity throughout the year, incorporating hospitality areas, spaces for corporate events and an offering aimed at broadening the relationship between the club, companies and the city beyond matchdays.
The project also incorporates criteria of sustainability and digitalisation and improvement of the visitor experience, in line with the evolution being followed by some of the leading international sports venues, increasingly conceived as spaces capable of combining sport, business, innovation and economic activity.
Following the presentation, attendees took a guided tour of Mestalla, one of the most historic stadiums in Spanish football, at a particularly significant moment for the club ahead of its future move to Nou Mestalla.
The event concluded with a networking lunch in which the representatives of the attending companies were able to continue the conversations started during the session and explore possible avenues of collaboration.
This edition featured representatives from Banco Santander, Naturgy, Across Legal, Aktion Legal, Iris Global, Teleport Dynamix, Vidext, TBIG, CaixaBank, Plug and Play, Leyton, GoHub, BStartup del Banco Sabadell, Glovo, Innsomnia, Kumori Systems and Opentop de Valencia Port.
Nacho Mas, CEO of Startup Valencia and VDS, highlighted the importance of bringing projects that contribute to transforming the city closer to the business community. “Nou Mestalla represents a vision that transcends the sporting sphere and reflects how major projects can also become spaces for generating economic activity, innovation and new connections between organisations. That exchange of ideas and experiences is precisely one of the objectives we pursue with the Supporters Catch Up”, he stated.
