No one wanted to miss last night’s event. The most prominent figures in the Valencian innovative ecosystem gathered at the Night of Startups in the emblematic Veles e Vents building. Among them, some institutional representatives, such as the Councilor for Tourism, Innovation, and Investment Attraction of the Valencia City Council, Paula Llobet.
Over 300 people celebrated the achievements of this year and had the opportunity to network with partners and supporters of Startup Valencia. There was also time for leisure and to enjoy the Karaoke Rock Band and those who dared to take the microphone.
There is much to celebrate because in 2023 our ecosystem continues to grow and achieve success. The latest edition of Valencia Digital Summit exceeded expectations once again with the attendance of 12,000 professionals from 91 different countries, a record-breaking international participation for the second consecutive year. This is in addition to the positive feedback from VDS2023 with its more than 70 hours of talks, presentations, and networking at the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia, along with over 40 Side Events.
Furthermore, this has been the year in which our startups’ international projection has been consolidated. According to the 2023 Startup Observatory Report of the Valencian Community, prepared by Startup Valencia in collaboration with the Valencian Government, over half of Valencian startups, 50.36%, have an international market reach.
And this growth is not limited to international scaling; our ecosystem is also expanding in terms of both the number of startups and entities within it. Specifically, at present, the Valencian Community has 1,314 startups, a 16% increase compared to 2022, and 1,677 entities in the ecosystem, a 14.31% increase compared to 2022.
Juan Luis Hortelano and Nacho Mas, president and CEO of Startup Valencia, were in charge of welcoming the attendees, along with the members of the Board of Directors. They highlighted these great achievements in 2023 and the team’s happiness in seeing “what we are building together“. They also thanked the attendees and the Valencian innovative ecosystem in general for making these accomplishments possible.
We close 2023 with these positive feelings and approach 2024 with the same energy and desire to continue adding to the growth of our ecosystem!
