Startup Valencia and the National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE) have launched a cybersecurity program aimed at boosting entrepreneurial projects across various sectors.

The Cybersecurity Startup Program, organized by Startup Valencia in partnership with INCIBE, aims to support startups and innovative projects from any sector through three-month incubation and acceleration programs.

The program, co-designed with the accelerator Innsomnia, features the involvement of tech companies and experts from Nunsys, BeDisruptive, Geekshubs, Internxt, Sothis, Aktion Legal Partners, Zubi Labs, The Impact Project, and Plug and Play Tech Center, among others. These participants will conduct training sessions and mentoring.

This training will be complemented by visits to leading companies in the sector and networking activities. The initiative is supported by Valencia Innovation Capital, the Valencia City Council new innovation strategy, and Innsomnia, an Innovation Hub that advises and supports companies in their digital transformation process. The programs will conclude with a Demo Day in front of investors and potential clients, distributing €10,000 in prizes to the winning projects. The call for program participation is open until April 10.

As Nacho Mas, CEO of Startup Valencia, points out, “to preserve the integrity of people and companies operating online and to protect their data, the development of cybersecurity tools is essential, which represents a business opportunity for startups working in this field.”

Additionally, as part of this program, Startup Valencia organized the Cybersecurity Hackathon during the first week of March. The competition was held at the Las Naves Innovation Center of the Valencia City Council, where 25 participants, divided into 4 teams, worked to find solutions to sustainable and current challenges in the field of cybersecurity.

During the two days of the hackathon, participants were visited by mentors from various corporates and startups, including Antoni Espinosa, CTO and Co-founder of Let´s Wow, Pau Vélaz, COO at Alma Wolf, Jose Miguel Espinar and José Pérez, CMO and CEO at Woztell respectively, Salva Ferri, Managing Partner and Co-founder of We Tangible, Rosa Sánchez, Head of Startups Valencia at Banco Santander, Bogdan Tapu, Founder and CEO at World Challenge Game, Jordi Oliver, Innovation Business Manager at S2 Grupo, and Karina Virrueta, Head of Innovation Ecosystem at Startup Valencia. Furthermore, they also enjoyed training capsules from Paco Bree, CEO of Inndux, Juan Antonio Gil, Technical Manager at NTT Data, and Ángela Castelló, CRO at Startup Valencia.
