Be part of the Startup Valencia community made up of 48,000+ professionals

CaixaBank joins Startup Valencia with the aim of establishing the Valencian Community as a benchmark for entrepreneurship and innovation.

The collaboration also provides a boost to the regional entrepreneurial ecosystem, as the financial institution will actively engage in energizing it with the opportunity to participate in open innovation programs. Furthermore, CaixaBank will be able to connect with members of Startup Valencia to share experiences and best practices.

This collaboration has been formalized with the signing of the agreement between Olga García, regional director of CaixaBank in the Valencian Community and Murcia Region, and Nacho Mas, CEO of Startup Valencia. The financial institution joins the association as a partner through DayOne, the division specializing in technology companies and their investors. Its goal is to support all technology-based companies with rapid development and a global reach, which engage in value-added activities and primarily finance their growth in the early stages with their own funds.

“With this alliance, CaixaBank is betting on the Valencian Community as a top-tier innovation hub,” said Olga García. “This collaboration agreement with Startup Valencia and the implementation of the DayOne model in the region represents another step in our strategy to offer a specialized banking model by segments, tailored to the needs of each client profile. In the case of startups and scaleups, this specialization means providing a service with new approaches, aimed at all agents in the innovation ecosystem, and leveraging the valuable experience we have in working with entrepreneurs and companies at CaixaBank,” emphasized the regional director of the institution in the Valencian Community, concluding that “startups and entrepreneurs have in CaixaBank an ally for both the present and the future.”

According to Nacho Mas, CEO of Startup Valencia, “having the support of a prestigious banking institution like CaixaBank is another indication of the weight of the Valencian Community as a leading international technology hub. It will also facilitate the search for synergies for entrepreneurs and boost economic development,” he noted.

About CaixaBank DayOne

DayOne is CaixaBank’s division specializing in technology companies and their investors. Its goal is to support all technology-based companies with rapid development and a global reach, engaging in value-added activities and primarily financing their growth in the early stages with their own funds. It also provides specialized services for investors who support the ecosystem’s growth (Business Angels, Venture Capital, and Corporates).

Moreover, DayOne fosters relational banking with the different actors in the ecosystem, facilitating relationships, synergies, knowledge, and innovation through strategic alliances.

This way, CaixaBank enhances its strategy of offering a specialized banking model by segments, fully tailored to the needs of each client profile.

Currently, DayOne has physical locations in Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Zaragoza, Bilbao, and Málaga, and business managers in Murcia, Castilla y León, Canary Islands, Seville, Galicia, and Catalonia. It now covers and provides specialized services in 14 autonomous communities. The DayOne centers are designed as hubs for the meeting of talent and capital. Their main function is to serve as meeting points between the founders of technology companies, the partners who help grow their business, and investors interested in innovative companies with growth potential.

To contribute to the development of young, high-potential innovative companies, the entity, along with ENISA, has launched the EmprendeXXI Awards every year since their inception in 2007. These awards have become a well-established recognition in the territory and a reference for startups in Spain and Portugal.
